The project

Born in Abruzzo,
built for those who keep coming back.

RoadToAbruzzo was born out of a simple frustration: finding a bus from Rome to Abruzzo means opening five different websites, manually comparing schedules and prices, and hoping you haven't missed anything. We decided to solve the problem.

How the project started

It all started in 2023. Simone and his partner — an Abruzzo native who had moved away for work — often found themselves manually comparing the websites of Prontobus, DiCarloBus, Flixbus and others to find the best ticket from Roma Tiburtina or Fiumicino Airport. A few euros difference, mismatched schedules, cancelled routes... a puzzle to solve from scratch every single time.

The obvious solution: a comparison tool. And so RoadToAbruzzo was born — an independent, completely free project, built in the evenings and on weekends with one single goal: to make life easier for people who regularly travel this route.

No investors. No hidden fees. Just a developer, his very frustrated partner, and their beloved region.

2023

First version: three companies, two routes, two users (Simone and his partner). But it worked.

2024

New companies added, new cities covered, first dozens of monthly users.

2025

Full interface redesign, multilingual support, hundreds of searches per month.

Today

The project grows, but the soul remains the same: free, honest, and rooted in Abruzzo.

Our values

Free forever

Comparing offers should cost nothing. No subscription, no registration.

No commission

We don't earn anything from bookings. We take you directly to the official website of the bus company.

Responsible travel

We believe in slow travel. The bus is one of the most sustainable ways to reach Abruzzo.

Abruzzo at heart

This project was born out of love for a region that is often overlooked, yet truly extraordinary.
